Garden Marquee Wedding – Connie & Will

Garden Marquee Wedding – Connie & Will

Garden marquee weddingO my, I have a corker in store for you tonight on the blog! Connie & Will’s garden marquee wedding was one of the best weddings I’ve been to…EVER! And I’ve been to quite a few as you can imagine 🙂 I love love love garden marquee weddings and this was absolutely no exception.

Connie & Will’s wedding reception was held in the garden grounds of Connie’s family farm home, complete with chickens, barns and tractor. Bunting covered the outside space along with many pots of spring flowers and even a Splat the Rat game and a coconut shy. The wedding was help in St Peter’s Church just down the road, so Connie & Will could make the perfect get away exit on the back of a tractor before arriving back home in time to be covered in confetti. Music was a big part of their wedding and their brass band played not only during the wedding service but in the courtyard too before guests were treated to a hearty chicken pie dinner in the marquee. The evening was topped off with an awesome ceilidh band which ALWAYS make for the most hilarious photos…

Amazing wedding guys, you totally smashed it!! Thank you so much for having Emma and I along, we loved every minute.

Garden marquee wedding

Of all the types of weddings I’m lucky enough to get to shoot, I have to say that garden marquee weddings come my absolute top. I think it’s the fact that you can do WHATEVER you like, WHENEVER you like, and aren’t in anyway restricted by a venue with their own rules and regs (as long as you have understanding neighbours, of course!) makes for a truly unique and relaxed wedding.

Gemma & Dave’s marquee reception in Gemma’s family home garden, has to be one of the best weddings I’ve ever been to, I just flippin’ LOVED this day. From the gorgeous styling with about a thousand jars of wild flowers, to the delicious paella to the abundance of sunflowers which they grew specially, and the fact that live music played for the majority of the day, made this wedding seriously awesome.

Thank you so much for having me along, I had sooooo much fun! Thank you too to Dan who shot along side me, some of these photos are his.

Garden Marquee Wedding

One of my absolute favourite types of weddings to shoot in the world is garden marquee weddings on private land. They’re always so relaxed and so much fun – you can put your personality and stamp on the day with absolutely no restrictions from anyone else and you can decorate the wedding exactly how you choose. Lauren & Harry’s wedding was no exception – the wedding was held in the Church next door to Harry’s childhood home and then the reception in the family garden inside a huge marquee. They house attached to the garden is simply beautiful – we wandered around the grounds for their couple shots and used the fabulous front of the house as a backdrop.

Although they hid from my camera on the day, Harry’s family garden homes several beautiful peacocks, and so little peacock touches were dotted around in the decor and even on the cake. Harry & Lauren’s wedding had so much colour everywhere, from the bouquets to the ceiling of the marquee, to the handmade paper birds…all so wonderful.

I’m so delighted to have been a little part of this gorgeous wedding, thank you so much for having Emma and I along! Some of these photos are Emma’s.

Parley Manor Wedding – Anita & Ed

Parley Manor Wedding – Anita & Ed

Parley ManorAhh the beautiful Parley Manor in Christchurch! I haven’t shot at this venue for years, so I was over the moon when Anita & Ed asked me to capture their special day at this O so pretty garden marquee venue.

Anita began her day by getting ready at Burley Manor in The New Forest, with her girlies and her parents. One of Anita’s bridesmaids was my lovely friend Hayley from Hayley Savage photography…so no pressure then! 😉

After saying their vows under the marquee in the beautiful garden, guests were serenaded by the most awesome band whilst they drank and mingled. We disappeared off for a while to take their couple shots amongst the flowers which were just bursting with colour, and even found a cornfield out the back. And you know how I love a cornfield!

Anita had thought of everything – even a glitter bar to give her guests an extra bit of sparkle for the evening party! Such a gorgeous day, thank you so much for letting me be a tiny part of it. Thank you too to Leoni who assisted me, some of these photos are hers.

Garden Marquee Wedding – Kate & Tom

garden_marquee_wedding_001I absolutely love garden marquee weddings! They are always so relaxed and unique, I love how you’re able to completely put your personality stamp on the day as the marquee is such a blank canvas and can be decorated exactly as you choose. Kate & Tom’s garden marquee wedding in Kate’s parents gorgeous garden didn’t disappoint in the slightest – their big garden was just perfect for the party. They tied the knot in the church opposite and with just a short walk across the road everyone was able to walk back to the marquee and celebrate. What a perfect day, I loved every minute!

A big thank you to Amy Wass who second shot for me, some of these photos are hers.
