Bartley Lodge in Southampton is one of my favourite venues – it’s so cosy and homely with such gorgeous gardens that I was over the moon when Laura & Arran booked me to photograph their special day. I knew it would be perfect for a winter wedding too, because even when the flowers aren’t in bloom there still so much greenery about and the dark paneled walls inside give it such a warm feeling.
Laura & Arran’s wedding was styled beautifully, with soft pink pastels and roses, which looked gorgeous next to the boys’ smart tux suits. I love a man in a tux! They were brilliant enough to brave to cold with me and to wander around the grounds taking couples photos as well as their family photos before everyone went inside for a delicious meal and some very, very funny speeches. Because the night drew in quickly, we took advantage of the dark and got everyone out for a sparkler photo, which is always great fun at every wedding!
I had so much fun with these two, thank you so much for choosing me to photograph your day! I’m very honoured to be a little part of it. A bug thank you to Ange too who shot along side me, some of these photos are hers.

Bartley Lodge is a gorgeous boutique hotel, nestled in among the trees in the beautiful The New Forest. It’s small enough to feel intimate but big enough to feel grand and exclusive, with huge flowery gardens and enormously tall trees peering over it. Can you tell I love it here?! So yes, I was delighted when Danni & Joe asked me to photograph their wedding at the wonderful Bartley Lodge.
Thank you so much for having Emma and I along, we had such a lovely afternoon with you all! And thank you for introducing me to the wonder that is Macaroons, I’ve been dreaming about those ever since! Congratulations again, lovelies xx

We are so lucky here in Hampshire to be surrounded by the New Forest, it is one of my most favourite places in the whole world! There is nowhere quite like it, a calm, hypnotic place where you can walk among ancient trees and freely wandering horses and cattle (I was even lucky enough to get married there myself, many years ago!).
Kirsten and Simon chose one of the most beautiful hotels in the area is Bartley Lodge Hotel, with its gorgeous gardens and the most striking dark paneled dining room for holding the festivities of the day. This quintessentially English manor is such a wonderful backdrop for any traditional English country wedding.
Everyone was in high spirits to watch Kirsten and Simon say their vows together with friends and family at St Matthew’s Church in Netley Marsh. After their marriage they made their way to Bartley Lodge Hotel in a rather fabulous vintage car, the drive there must have been filled with smiles, laughter between the newly weds and the most incredible scenery rushing by.
To help along the perfect day for Kirsten and Simon the weather was perfect, a warm day for the end of spring. We spent the afternoon making the most of the sunshine in the fabulous gardens. We were surrounded by beautiful lawns and trees on the estate grounds.
The bride’s beautiful lace gown was complemented by blush pinks in her floral arrangements and bridesmaids dresses, reflecting the bond they all share on this most precious day. The groom and his men were equally dapper in their grey suits and matching shoes.
Congratulations guys! Everything was wonderful xx
Thank you to Julie for second shooting with me on this one, some of these photos were taken by her.
