Hampshire Wedding Photographer – best of 2018
O my goodness – how do I even begin to put into words how amazing 2018 has been?! First of all, the year FLEW by, I can’t believe I’m sat at my desk again contacting all of my lovely 2019 couples to book in their planning meetings when I was only here doing this for the 2018 guys 5 minutes ago. This year just seemed really easy, with gorgeous weather, gorgeous venues and even more gorgeous couples with big smiles and even bigger hearts. I’ve honestly loved this year so, so much.
I’ll never ever take for granted the trust my couples give to me with capturing their most awesome day – I know what a privilege and honour this is. You allow me to do something that makes me truly happy in a vocation that I love, so for that I thank you all from the bottom of my heart.
So to each and everyone of my fabulous 31 couples in 2018, THANK YOU, and the happiest of New Years. Ooh, and…can you spot you??
Love, Mia xx

As a Hampshire wedding photographer I love all types of weddings, from barns to hotels to village halls, but one of my absolute favourite types to shoot is a marquee wedding in a garden. When Sarah & Dan told me this was what they had planned for their day I just knew it would be fabulous. Sarah’s parents hosted the marquee wedding in their beautiful and large garden in Hampshire – the perfect setting for such a special day. Sarah’s Dad mentioned during the speeches later in the day that Sarah’s Mum and him had always dreamed that one day Sarah would get married in the little church down the road and then celebrate her marriage back at their house.
When I arrived in the morning I got busy capturing everyone getting ready for the day ahead. Whilst Sarah and her bridesmaids put their make up on upstairs Vanilla Catering busied themselves with the preparation of the food and drinks as the final touches of decor were being put in the marquee. The patio outside was lined with spring flowers and the side of the house covered in bright and colourful bunting; there was no mistaking a fabulous party was about to take place!
I met Dan at St Leonard’s Church in Burseldon, Hampshire, just down the road where he was nervously greeting guests and welcoming friends and family. The church was small but beautifully decorated in flowers and had even covered the window ledges with daffodils reminding everyone that spring had definitely begun.
After a very heartfelt service held by the lovely and welcoming vicar, Sarah & Dan left the church under an archway if oars – a nod to the fact they met each other at rowing club all that time ago. They were then met with a sea of confetti before jumping into the vintage car which had been hired for them as a total surprise. On the way back to the marquee, we stopped off at a few pretty locations for some photos, giving us a great opportunity to snap away from the crowd and to also help let the day sink in for Sarah & Dan. Once back at the marquee, friends and family chatted over the canapes whilst we took a handful of family pictures.
Once inside the marquee, everyone enjoyed an amazing 3 course meal, which my second photographer Dan and I were lucky enough to also indulge in. I couldn’t resist taking pictures of it, it was so pretty! Some wonderful speeches ensured with some very funny moments before everyone danced the night away in front of the brilliant band. As marquee weddings go this was definitely one of my favourites! Thank you so much for having me there, I loved every minute.
