Pennyhill Park – Helen & Yorrick

Pennyhill Park – Helen & Yorrick

Pennyhill Park

Oooh Saturday at Pennyhill Park is Surrey was an absolute corker of a wedding! One of the things I love most about summer weddings is the potential to get married outside at some venues, so I was delighted when Helen & Yorrick told me they hoped to get married in the great outdoors. The Pavilion at Pennyhill Park is just gorgeous, and made even more so when absolutely covered in summer flowers. And what a view!

Helen began the day in fabulously full and multi layered white wedding dress before changing into a shorter red dress which is not only the traditional Vietnamese wedding dress colour but also easier to dance in! Yorrick & Helen spent the afternoon chatting to friends and family and taking photos in the pretty gardens before treating their guests to a 4 course meal and several lovely speeches. After her & Yorrick’s first dance, Helen and her dance troop surprised everyone with a dance routine which had everyone cheering and having the best time. What a fantastic day!

It’s been so lovely to meet you both, thank you so much for having me along (and including me in the delicious dinner!) Wishing you so much love and happiness for the future, here are you highlights below.

I would love to shoot at this beautiful venue again so if anyone reading this is also getting married at Pennyhill Park and would like to get in touch, please do!

The Mill at Gordleton Wedding – Hannah & Tom

The Mill at Gordleton Wedding – Hannah & Tom

The Mill at Gordleton

Goodness me, what a gorgeous new wedding venue The Mill at Gordleton is! Just on the edge of The New Forest, Goldleton Mill is a lovely counrty pub, serving delicious food and drinks. Although they’ve been holding small weddings for a while, they have only recently gone through a whole new refit, and have had a huge white marquee erected in the gorgeous gardens, so are now able to hold large weddings with lots of guests. The most wonderful thing about The Mill at Gordleton though, is that you can have your wedding outside in the gorgeous gardens; right next to the water. That’s exactly what Hannah & Tom did one sunny day in August – they had my favourite celebrate, David, conduct their wedding in front of their nearest and dearest, in the beautiful sunshine.

The Mill at Gordleton is fast becoming one of my favourite new venues – it ticks SO many boxes for me and the types of weddings I absolutely love to shoot. The gardens have kooky and quirky pieces of art hidden among the flowers and an abundance of wonderful little secret spots which Hannah & Tom had their photos taken in.

One of my favourite things about Hannah & Tom’s wedding, was the incredible decor they pulled off inside their marquee. The styling was breathtaking; I think I said ‘O my goodness, wow’ about a thousand times. The garden marquee was dripping in flowers – all pinks and mauves, with real wild berries and figs. The name places were flower inspired too, with beautiful handmade name places and of course, a naked wedding cake!

Such a gorgeous day, thank you so much for having me along to share it with you both, it’s been an absolute delight to get to know you both.

Ashley Wood Farm Wedding – Emily & Jim

Ashley Wood Farm Wedding – Emily & Jim

Ashley Wood FarmVenues I regularly shoot at can sometimes feel a little bit like my babies, so I know you’re not supposed to have favourites…but I kinda do a little bit with Ashley Wood Farm! This venue is O so flippin’ gorgeous, with it’s duck egg blue barn doors and sand coloured walls, plus I LOVE the fact you can opt to get married outside in the garden if you choose to. Not only that but it has the loveliest little cottage on site to get ready in in the morning and to stay in the night of the wedding… so I may even be so daring to say it’s pretty much PERFECT.

So when Emily & Jim asked me to be the photographer for their September wedding at Ashley Wood Farm, you can imagine I was delighted! Everything about their wedding was absolutely-knock your socks off-gorgeous, and the barn was styled impeccably. All the tables were given brightly coloured flowers in cute jars, with gold and hessian touches and multi-coloured ribbons hanging from the ceiling. They even had botanical information cards up-cycled as bunting, O my!

After a week of threatened rain, we were lucky and Emily and Jim were able to wed outside in the garden exactly as they had wanted to. Afterwards, they were met with a shower of confetti instead of rain, before guests mingled, chatted and enjoyed the canapes.

Before the meal we wondered around the grounds capturing their couple shots, before the evening party kicked off with an awesome Ceilidh band which got almost everyone up on their feet.

I LOVED this wedding, thank you so much for having Dan and I along; some of these photos are his <3

Old Vicarage wedding – Natalie & Adam

Old Vicarage wedding – Natalie & Adam

The Old VicarageO how I love The Old Vicarage in Christchurch – it’s the most beautiful, homely and versatile wedding venue with a wonderful outside space for a wedding ceremony right amongst the flowers. I love that with this venue, if you do find yourself with a rainy day, the inside is just as gorgeous and light and airy, so – unlike some wedding venues – it’s really not the end of the world if it rains and you have to be inside. Luckily we didn’t have to worry about that with Natalie & Adam’s wedding this September as we were blessed with glorious sunshine all day!

I was delighted when Natalie & Adam asked me to capture their special day; I knew straight away they would be such a lovely couple to photograph, plus they have a gorgeous little baba George, who always gives me the best smiles 🙂 George arrived in absolute style in an awesome cart which was rolled down the aisle – personalised number plate to boot! What a dude.

Natalie & Adam’s wedding was beautifully colourful, with splashes of rainbow inspired flowers all over the place, which complimented the bridesmaids floral and bird dresses perfectly. Everything about this day was just so fun and joyful, we loved every minute and laughed along with the happy couple all day.

Thank you for having Leoni and I along, we had a blast.

I’ve recently been lucky enough to become a recommended supplier at The Old Vicarage, so if you’d like to chat to me about photographing your wedding day, please contact me here.

Parley Manor Wedding – Anita & Ed

Parley Manor Wedding – Anita & Ed

Parley ManorAhh the beautiful Parley Manor in Christchurch! I haven’t shot at this venue for years, so I was over the moon when Anita & Ed asked me to capture their special day at this O so pretty garden marquee venue.

Anita began her day by getting ready at Burley Manor in The New Forest, with her girlies and her parents. One of Anita’s bridesmaids was my lovely friend Hayley from Hayley Savage photography…so no pressure then! 😉

After saying their vows under the marquee in the beautiful garden, guests were serenaded by the most awesome band whilst they drank and mingled. We disappeared off for a while to take their couple shots amongst the flowers which were just bursting with colour, and even found a cornfield out the back. And you know how I love a cornfield!

Anita had thought of everything – even a glitter bar to give her guests an extra bit of sparkle for the evening party! Such a gorgeous day, thank you so much for letting me be a tiny part of it. Thank you too to Leoni who assisted me, some of these photos are hers.
