The area holds really special memories for these guys, as it was on these Southampton walls that Matt projected a message to Leeny asking her to marry him. How cool is that?! I think that sums these two up perfectly – cool, a little bit different, and rather artistic (as I’m sure you’ll agree when you see the peacock room decor!)
Leeny and her girls got ready in her and Matt’s new home in Southampton. Leeny was a bit worried about the photos showing the unfinished walls and decor, but I love the way it looks! The texture in the background looks amazing, and I think shows off her gorgeous dress which her very clever Mother in law made, perfectly.
Meanwhile, Matt and his suited and booted boys decorated St Michael’s Church, Southampton and welcomed their guests as they waited for the girls to arrive. Leeny was walked down the aisle by her Dad to a small choir of gospel singers which was a fantastic little addition and made the moment even more moving.
After the ceremony Leeny & Matt came out of the church under an arch way of swords before posing for a few family photos and a big group shot with everyone holding funny lips and moustaches on sticks. Before we all went to The Grand Harbour hotel for drinks and canapés, Leeny, Matt, their bridal party and I stopped off at the giant boat at the bottom of the street for some fun bridal party photos and to do a handful of couple shots. Once at The Grand Harbour Hotel, guests enjoyed a brilliant ukulele band as they chatted and mingled and enjoyed the warm sunshine coming through the glass walls and ceiling.
One of the highlights of the day came for me during the first dance, when Leeny and Matt stopped their slow dance and all of their bridal party jumped onto the dance floor to entertain everyone with a dance routine, what a great surprise! Such a brilliant day full of unique little touches, I’m so thankful to have been part of it. A big thank you too to Clare West who second shot for me, some of these photos are hers.
