Living in Hampshire gives me such a lovely assortment of wedding venues to visit, woods, fields, or like Claire and Matt’s wedding, the beach with Beach Weddings Bournemouth! Did I mention the newlyweds rode on a zip wire? No? Read on!
There is something very special about a beach wedding; the sound of the sea, the golden sands, the feel of the sun on your face…even though its here in the UK! We are lucky to have some wonderful beaches close by, living here on the South.
Claire got ready at the local Highcliff Marriott hotel with her lovely maids and little flower girl daughter, before making her way down to the beach in the famous cliff top lift. Claire looked incredible in her lace detailed gown as the bridesmaids complemented her in their blush pink dresses. The little sons looked so cool matching the other groomsmen in their little suits and bow ties – such cool kids!
The beautiful floral and driftwood archway was the perfect place for Claire and Matt to say their vows, while their family and friends watched and listened to their special readings. After ice creams, drinks and lawn games I took a walk along the beach with the couple, the sprinkling of rain wasn’t a problem and I got some shots with the sea and the beach, and even the cute beach huts, such a great backdrop!
Now, the part we are all waiting for! The ZIPWIRE! Claire and Matt were very brave as they decided on the spare of the moment to ride the zipwire from one end of Bournemouth pier right down on to the beach! I am sure it was such an exhilarating end to their day! After that excitement the couple had their first dance and celebrated into the night with their family and friends. I’m seriously lucky to have such cool clients to photograph!
Such a special day, and the zipwire was a first for me too! Congrats Claire and Matt xx

Sian and Jordan weren’t about to allow a bit of rain stop their incredible day at one of my favourite ever wedding venues – Beaulieu Treehouses in Hampshire. In fact, spirits were so high and everyone had so much fun, I doubt they even noticed!
Getting ready at The Crown in Lyndhurst Sian had her make up done by the fabulous Frances Moore MUA, who it’s always lovely to see on the morning of a wedding. Sian wore a classically beautiful gown with lace and layers, which perfectly complimented the blue shades of the bridesmaids dresses.
I’m always so excited to photograph a wedding at the Beaulieu Treehouses – its one of those quirky venues here in Hampshire that ticks a lot of boxes; outdoor, a bit unique, has a meadow and a fire pit near by…Oh and a rope bridge too, perfect!
We luckily dodged the showers after the ceremony when we all went outside for some family photos during the canapes, then Sian, Jordan and I ventured into the woods for some couple shots.
After the delicious meal of breads, salads, meat and cheeses, Sian & Jordan cut the cake, before guests were treated to ice cream from a cart outside the venue then warm apple juice and whisky at the fire pit. And of course, toasted marshmallows on sticks!
This day was truly special, everyone made Dan and I feel so comfortable and welcomed, thank you! Congratulations to you both, thank you so much for choosing me.

The beautiful Clock Barn in Hampshire was the scene for Abi and Chris’ wedding and it was so, so lovely! Not even a few drops of summer rain could stop everyone from enjoying the day. This wedding made me very happy – I absolutely adore barn weddings; especially ones with a cornfield right outside!
It is always so nice when friends and families gather together to celebrate these momentous occasions. Abi got ready with her bridesmaids at her mum’s house and they borrowed a good friend’s Hummer for wedding transport – when you’ve got a big bridal party, you need a big car!
I think we need to talk a bit about the dresses. Ladies, you all looked spectacular. Abi looked absolutely stunning in her lace gown, and the bridesmaids dusky lilac gowns with lace detailing were so elegant and fabulous too. All this tied in so well with the beautiful flowers arranged by Sarah Styles Florist, the colours were so bright and summery.
The kids at this wedding played their part too and they were just adorable; a really happy and cheeky bunch. As usual I snuck off with the bride and groom for a walk among the beautiful grounds and cornfields while Abi and Chris’ guests enjoyed some canapés and drinks.
Back at the Clock Barn for the reception guests were treated to speeches, a delicious meal and a sweet cart by local company Bonappasweet! The soft lighting and rustic detailing gave such a romantic feel to the barn. The lovely natural looking cake from Meadow Cottage Bakery was a real centerpiece standing proudly on a gorgeous wood slice, a quirky idea, just like the racehorse table plan which I’ve not seen anything like before! Everyone was enjoying the music and dancing as we left, and kids on the dance floor always steal the show!
Thanks for letting me join in on your special day guys, just wonderful xx

Today’s wedding was an absolute delight. Cara and Chris wowed on their big day at the gorgeous St Michael’s Church in Sandhurst followed by a reception at Riverdale Barn in Hampshire.
How gorgeous is Cara’s dress? The beautiful lace detailing and soft pleats were fabulous for the countryside wedding. The bridesmaids had delicate beading and blush pinks and all the ladies looked just gorgeous. I love the pictures of the bridesmaids helping Cara into her dress in the garden – such wonderful memories to be made, even when simply getting dressed!
A beautiful vintage car came and whisked Cara and her mum away to St Michael’s Church; a Church so beautiful inside with a lovely arched altar and gilded artwork that it almost looked like a mini cathedral!
Arriving at Rivervale Barn the family and friends were treated to some wonderful personal touches, with some little bottles of ‘love potion’ as favours, beautiful flowers and delicate twinkle lights creating a romantic atmosphere. There was even a champagne ‘bubble bath’!
In the garden grounds we managed to get some family photos, but for the couple shots we ventured out again a little later and grabbed some hazy sunset photos in the countryside – these are always my favourite photos of the day.
After Cara and Chris had their first dance the couple joined their family and friends to enjoy the music and dancing, which I am sure went on way past that beautiful sunset!
What a lovely day, congratulations lovelies! Thank you so much for having me along.

Goodness me! What a BEAUTIFUL wedding Amy and Tom had this July in the wonderful The Sandbanks Hotel here on the South Coast. This incredible wedding venue is sat right on the edge of the beach in Poole overlooking the world famous Sandbanks Beach. The couple could not have asked for better weather; totally tropical temperatures and glorious sun shine made it feel just like a holiday. Absolute bliss!
Laid back romantics suit beach weddings and Amy and Tom fitted that ticket on their wedding day! Gentle tropic pink tones complemented beach blues and grays, we could have been in the Caribbean! The bridesmaids looked lovely in their pale pink hues, and the lace gown Amy fell in love with is just stunning. I love the shots on the beach with day trippers and holidaymakers in the background, just adds to the sense that these guys were doing something extra special! How many of us are lucky enough to say we strolled hand in hand on the beach moments after getting married? Just perfect.
In keeping with Amy and Tom’s tropical beach setting a steel band entertained the guests and later the lucky friends and family were again thoroughly entertained by a brilliant magician. I have studied the photos very carefully and I still can’t work out how he did it! Amazing! The whole day had an atmosphere beach and romance and just gorgeousness the little shells and pearls finishing off the look in the dining room were just perfect.
Thanks for letting me be a part of your special day guys x
Thank you to Clare as always for second shooting part of the day, some of these photos are hers.
