I absolutely love a quirky wedding venue and there is none more quirky and just so flippin’ cool than Beaulieu Treehouse in The New Forest at the Countryside Education Centre. It is exactly as awesome as it sounds; a real woodland wedding treat, complete with a rope bridge to boot!
As a recommended supplier of the venue I’m very lucky to get to shoot there regularly, and so I’ve compiled some of my favourite photos to give you some real wedding inspiration below. As you can see, the treehouses are nestled on the edge of the woods, with a clearing out the front with a perfect space to hold a decent sized crowd for reception drinks and of course, confetti!
After the wedding ceremony, which can be in either of the treehouses, guests are free to wander the grounds and take in the peaceful views or tuck in to the tasty canapes and nibbles. You can choose to either stay around the treehouses, or move on down to the meadow, where you can have your reception out in the open or under a marquee. You could even hire some lawn games!
The woods make a beautiful setting for some romantic couple shots and are ideal for family group photos as it’s cool and shaded in the summer and offer protection on rainy days. Back up at the treehouses for dinner, you can opt for a yummy summer BBQ, or a 3 course sit down, whatever you fancy. And then for speeches, you could either keep your guests seated at their tables, or for something a bit different why not all walk en mass down to the fire pit! There you could sip hot cider, toast marshmallows and enjoy the warmth of the fire as you listen to the speeches.
Beaulieu Treehouses in Hampshire is such a special and unique venue. However if you think you’d like to book it for your wedding you’d better be quick as they only book 12 a year!

I am so lucky to live in Hampshire, an area where there are so many special and unusual weddings venues to be found. The fabulous Weddings in the Woods in The New Forest certainly falls in that category! It is absolutely one of my favourites, it is simple and authentic with just a lovely little barn nestled in the magical ancient woods of The New Forest.
Gemma and Mark said their vows in front of their nearest and dearest outside in the great outdoors amongst the huge trees and just a few raindrops. The bride looked magical in her embellished lace gown and the bridesmaids beautiful in their mismatched lace and floral dresses, a really different look the ladies pulled off so well! The ceremony area had the guests seated on hay bales and the aisle was draped in daisies, the happiest of flowers!
The few drops of rain didn’t stop Gemma and Mark and their entourage enjoying the lawn games and even the speeches were given al fresco! A traditional high tea was enjoyed by all in the marquee with a marvelous selection of cakes and wonderful treats! The dancing and singing and celebrating was such a delight to watch, everyone seemed to enjoy the day very much.
This was one of those weddings where everyone has so much fun, the adventurous guests were treated to axe throwing and rifle shooting… and I’m happy to report there were no fatalities even with the happy mix of weaponry and alcohol! Even the bride and groom got to have a go at shooting – what fun!
What a special day guys, thank you so much for having me be a tiny part of it xx

One of the things I love the most about my job, is shooting at a venue for the very first time and discovering all the exciting little nooks and crannies which make for beautiful photos! I was one happy photographer when I saw this gorgeous gem of a greenhouse hiding in the huge, beautiful gardens at Cissbury in West Sussex. The fantastic rustic potting shed and all that light just made for the most wonderful photographs.
Lauren and Ben’s ceremony was held in the gorgeous and rustic barns behind the main house at Cissbury. The couples guests and family mingled in the sunshine before enjoying their meal in the second barn which was decorated with huge paper balls in between the rafters, a stunning use of the space. The wedding cake was also fantastic – one side was flowers and lace and the other side had a different activity the couple enjoyed for each tier! What a great idea!
How beautiful is Laurens lace and satin gown? And lets talk about the bridesmaids midnight and silver dresses too – they all looked so elegant and beautiful! One of the things I absolutely loved the most about this wedding was the fact that, rather than going with tradition, Lauren & Ben walked down the aisle together. How cool are they?! The moment when Lauren popped around the corner to where Ben was waiting was a unique moment I imagine neither of them will forget!
The walled gardens and huge barn doors provided such a beautiful backdrop to their day. For the couples photos I explored different patches of garden and a wonderful glen of woods and orchard, but that old greenhouse stole the show!
A truly wonderful day, congratulations guys! <3
