Your Day

'Getting Ready'

Your special day will begin with the hustle and bustle of a busy house brimming with excited people fussing around the bride. I'll be there with my camera to capture all the excitement and nerves of the morning from the emotional Mother of the Bride to the panicking bridesmaid who can't find her make up bag. It's a fantastic opportunity to capture that fabulous dress which is hanging up and those beautifully chosen pieces of jewellery. I will mainly be working in the background unobtrusively capturing what is unfolding around me and photographing the Bride and her nearest and dearest when they are looking their most glamorous. It is also when you'll feel comfortable having selected a female photographer for your wedding, they'll be no need to feel self conscious with me working quietly in the background.

'The Boys'

Once all the ladies have been photographed, it's then the boys turn! I usually meet the Groom and his men such as the Best Man, Ushers and Father outside the church or ceremony room. We then spend a bit of time capturing the men chatting nervously and congratulating the Groom on what he's about to do. It can also be quite fun after the wedding to compare the expression on the Groom's face before the ceremony and then again after when his speech is finished with - you'll see the stress has just drained away!

'The Ceremony'

This is it: the main event. I will be hidden at the front, so don't think about the camera. I will try to stay out of sight. Whether you've chosen a church, hotel or registry office, I will simply capture everything as it unfolds from the bride walking down the aisle, to the vows* and the first kiss.

'Group Shots'

This is the part when we document everyone who is there to share in your day and it can be as thorough or as relaxed as you'd like it to be. Most couples give me a list before the day of some key photos that they'd like to ensure that the most important guests are represented. I think it's crucial to make this section go as quickly and as smoothly as possible - we've all been to those weddings when everyone is made to stand around for what seems like hours for stiff unnatural photos so I try to make this part as quick and painless as possible so you can start the party.

'Personal Shots'

This is a lovely time for the bride and groom to step away from their guests, take a breather and let the day sink in. I often go for a little walk with the new Mr and Mrs, to capture the intimacy between two people who have just said 'I do'. This is when I set them up to take a few formal shots, however, I mainly let them just be together and capture the love which is always so evident between them.

'Evening'

This is quite a broad title because it covers many crucial aspects of your day such as the cake cutting, speeches and first dance. My being there will mean that you have complete coverage of your day, enabling you to have fabulous memories for many years to come. In the evening I will mingle with your guests and catch them at their best; drink in hand, smiling and talking about what a wonderful day they've had.
